To Perform a SS Split Vent Restriction Test
Use the Agilent Instrument Utilities Split Vent Restriction Test
to determine if there is an abnormal restriction in the split vent
flow path. Open the software, select the GC, and run the test for
the inlet. (Alternately, see “To Run the Inlet Trap Check”.)
If the test fails:
• Consider whether the setup exceeds the minimum viable
pressures obtainable by the GC. See also Table 4.
• Consider the liner used. Agilent recommends a low
pressure-drop liner for split analyses, part number
5183-4647.
• Replace the split vent trap filter.
• Inspect and replace the gold seal. If not using the low
pressure drop liner, consider installing a high-flow gold seal,
5182-9652.
• Check for contamination in the split vent line. See “To Check
a Split Vent Line for Contamination”.
If the problem remains, contact Agilent for service.
