TRIG:STATe?
This is a query only command. The response will define the state of the transient trigger system as
follows:
• IDLE The trigger is in the idle state.
• ARM The trigger is waiting for internal synchronization or external trigger
• BUSY The triggered transient is in progress.
• WTRIG The unit is waiting for a trigger event.
The trigger state will be updated when the last list point has been executed. For final voltage or
frequency steps with a longer dwell time than needed to reach the end value, this means the response
may change from BUSY to IDLE before the dwell time has expired. If this affects the application
program, it will be necessary to add a final list point with a short duration (e.g. 0.001 second) to hold
the BUSY state till the end of the list.
Note: Firmware revision 0.31 or lower will respond with “ARM” instead of “IDLE” at the end of transient
execution even if the trigger mode is immediate.
