MSS is only supported for SIP calls.3
You cannot enable MSS on XT Series devices with a CPU lower than 2.0.4
Endpoints which do not support MSS receive active speaker's video from a video-enabled MSS5
conference call. The received resolution could be low.6
Only web collaboration is supported in this meeting type, so assure that it is enabled in the XT7
Series.8
Procedure9
1. Access the MSS settings. From the XT Series web interface, select Administrator10
Settings > Calls > Preferences > MSS. From the endpoint’s main menu, select11
Configure > Advanced > Calls > Preferences > MSS.12
2. Configure the settings, as described in
Table 15: MSS Settings on page 111.13

Field Description
Enable Select Yes to enable MSS. This is the default
value.
It can be disabled for interoperability purposes.
Display Participants Name Select Yes to display the participant names and
icons in the overlay over the video (continuous
presence layout). This is the default value.
Default Layout Select from:
• Automatic. This is the default value.
• 1 (terminal)
• 2 (terminals)
• 3 (terminals)
There may be variations to this list, depending
on your deployment.
This is the layout used for the continuous
presence composition of the remote videos. It is
also optionally used for self-view video.
Note:
To change the layout during a meeting,
you can also use the Call Panel >
Meeting Options > Layouts menu.
