11.4 Activating a PC-Card
Use the menu item „Activate PC-Card“ (see page 73) to activate a PC-
Card. After activation the symbol " " will appear in the first line of the LC
display.
Activation includes the following actions:
1. The DLX determines type and capacity of the PC-Card.
2. The DLX checks whether the capacity of the card is sufficient for the pro-
grammed number of counters and days for the registration period buffer.
3. Once the PC-Card has been found to be suitable, it will be formatted to ensure
that recording always takes place on an empty PC-Card.
4. Afterwards the administration information will be stored on the PC-Card.
11.5 Deactivating a PC-Card
A PC-Card needs to be deactivated before it may be removed from the
DLX. The deactivation updates the administration information on the PC-
Card. Use the menu item “Deactivate PC-Card” (see page 74) to deactivate
a PC-Card. Once this is done, the symbol " " disappears from the first line
of the LC display.
11.6 Removing a PC-Card
Press the eject button
(see Figure 48, Inserting a PC-Card) on the right
hand side of the PC-Card to remove the card.
Only after deactivation via the keypad (see menu item "Deactivate PC-
Card" page 74) the PC-Card may be removed from the PC-Card slot.
If the PC-Card is removed from the DLX without prior deactivation, it
cannot be read by other processing software! The " " symbol starts to
blink and a corresponding alarm message will be created.
