MACO Series Controller Installation
Eurotherm/Barber-Colman
2. Installing & Wiring the T/C-Analog Board
Make certain to use the proper extension wire. Do NOT run extension wire in the
same trough with power wiring.
Note that these boards cannot be calibrated in the field.
For All A-60063 and A-60133 Boards:
There is no address switch on these boards (they are assigned numbers by the
data handler software). Board 1 is the left-most t/c-analog board and numbers
ascend from left to right. Note that for programming purposes a 12 zone board is
treated like two 6 zone boards (e.g., Function A is Board 1; Function B is Board 2
– this allows a system to be switched over from the original 6 zone boards to 12
zone boards). Check to see that there is a wire jumper inserted betweens Pins 1
and 2 of P14 and Pins 15 and 16 of P15.
For A-60063-1XX, A-60063-2XX, A-60133-1XX, A-60133-2XX, A-6013-8XX
(Boards with Analog Inputs)
For A-60063-1XX, A-60133-1XX boards and Function A of A-60063-2XX and A-
60133-2XX boards, if the inputs are to be used as VOLTAGE inputs, wire each
input plus or minus to the terminals specified in Figures 2.3 and 2.4.
For A-60063-1XX, A-60133-1XX boards and Function A of A-60063-2XX and A-
60133-2XX boards, if the inputs are to be used as CURRENT inputs, first install
one resistor (505 Ω, 1/2 W, 0.1%, 25 ppm) from kit number 71-975 across the plus
and minus of each input (as shown in Figure 2.0) and then wire to the terminals
specified in Figures 2.2 and 2.3.
The A-60133-8xx board (with 3 analog inputs) is NOT meant to be used for milli-
volt input on the 3 analog inputs. It is designed for a 0 to 10 Vdc input which is
then INTERNALLY attenuated to 0 to 40 mVdc (note that the analog inputs can
be converted to CURRENT inputs using the resistors described above). When
configuring the board for use, enter a TC - Voltage Card Config setpoint that is
correct for Function B, Zones 1-3. In addition, enter a PID Tuning Selection setpoint
of “4” for Function B, Zones 4-6.
Note that single rack systems using more than one 6-zone card AND using Data
Handler firmware prior to Version 20.x4 MUST use the original (A-13398-X) 6-zone
temperature board or a newer board with firmware from kit 71-1104-00x. All other
systems can use A-60063-3XX boards for replacement 6-zone temperature cards.
If you have an older system that still uses the A-13398-X boards, refer to 1640-IN-
031-I-05.pdf "archived PDFs" folder of the MACO instruction manual CD (1640-
CD-001-0-00).
Note: When counting boards in multi-rack
systems (for switch settings, RLD/screen pro-
gramming) count each control rack separately.
Class 2 Wiring must be separated a minimum of
1/4 inch from any Class 1 conductors.
