14. Installing & Wiring AC/DC Input Boards
AC input boards have NOT been validated for conformance with the CE EMC
directive. Additional measures beyond those specified here may be needed in
order to demonstrate EMC compliance at the machine level. Proof of EMC
conformance lies with the machine manufacturer.
Note that there are 2 different AC/DC input board assemblies available: the A-
13991 is made up of the A-13901 AC board (upper) and the A-60070 DC board
(lower). The A-13991-100 assembly is made up of the A-13900 AC board (lower)
and the A-60071 DC board (upper).
READ THE WIRING LABEL CAREFULLY BEFORE APPLYING POWER TO
THESE BOARDS!
18 gauge wire is recommended as a minimum, but make certain to satisfy all local
and national code requirements.
For the DC Input Board:
Note that DC Input Boards require an external, regulated DC supply capable of
providing a voltage of plus (+) 12 Vdc to plus (+) 24 Vdc. The current rating of the
supply will depend on the number of loads being driven (and if the same supply is
being used for DC Outputs). Each DC Input draws 10 mA of current at 24 Vdc.
1.Connect -DC to Pin 1 of Connector P14. This connection provides a common for
all 24 of the opto-isolator input circuits (1 connection is required for all 24 inputs).
2.Connect each of the DC machine inputs to the board. There is a separate
connection for each of the 24 inputs (P14, Pins 2 - 9; P15, Pins 1 - 16).
For the AC Input Board:
1.Connect L2 to Pin 1 of Connector P14. This connection provides a common for
all 24 of the opto-isolator input circuits of that board.
2.Connect each of the AC machine inputs to the board. There is a separate
connection for each of the 24 inputs (P14, Pins 2 - 9; and P15, Pins 1 - 16).
