MACO Series Controller Installation
10. Installing & Wiring DC Output Boards
Note that DC Output Boards require an external, regulated DC supply capable of
providing a voltage of plus (+) 16 Vdc to plus (+) 24 Vdc. The power supply must
be CE recognized. The power supply and its ground distribution block must be
located within 30 cm of the bottom of the controller chassis. There must be NO
other (external) devices powered from the supply. The current rating of the supply
will depend on the loads being driven.
18 gauge wire is recommended as a minimum, but make certain to satisfy all local
and national code requirements.
For 24 Output (A-60068) Boards:
1.Connect +DC to the input side of the output board. There are six pins (Connector
P12, Pins 2, 3, 4, 18, 19 and 20) where +DC must be connected. Each +DC input
supplies power to four outputs. Pin 2 powers Outputs 1 - 4; Pin 3 powers Outputs
5 - 8; Pin 4 powers Outputs 9 - 12; Pin 18 powers Outputs 13 - 16; Pin 19 powers
Outputs 17 - 20; Pin 20 powers Outputs 21 - 24.
Connect -DC to the input side of the output board. There are two pins (Connector
P12, Pin 1 and 17) where -DC must be connected.
2.Connect the outputs to the loads. Each output has a single, separate connection
from the board. Connect the other side of each of the loads to -DC. Each load must
draw a minimum of 5 mA and a maximum of 2 Amps.
For 16 Output (A-60107) Boards:
1.Connect +DC to the input side of the output board. There are four pins
(Connector P12, Pins 2, 3, 4 and 18) where +DC must be connected. Each +DC
input supplies power to four outputs. Pin 2 powers Outputs 1 - 4; Pin 3 powers
Outputs 5 - 8; Pin 4 powers Outputs 9 - 12; Pin 18 powers Outputs 13 - 16.
Connect -DC to the input side of the output board. There are two pins (Connector
P12, Pin 1 and 17) where -DC must be connected.
2.Connect the outputs to the loads. Each output has a single, separate connection
from the board. Connect the other side of each of the loads to -DC. Each load must
draw a minimum of 5 mA and a maximum of 2 Amps.
