2.10 Safety equipment
2.11 Conduct in case of danger or accidents
Preventive mea-
sures
m Always be prepared for accidents or fire!
m Keep first-aid equipment (e.g. first-aid kits, blankets, etc.) and fire extinguishers readily
accessible.
m Familiarize personnel with accident alarm, first aid and rescue equipment.
And if something
does happen: re
-
spond properly.
m Stop operation of the device immediately with an EMERGENCY Stop.
m Initiate first aid measures.
m Evacuate persons from the danger zone.
m Notify the responsible persons at the scene of operations.
m Alarm medical personnel and/or the fire department.
m Keep access routes clear for rescue vehicles.
WARNING!
Risk of fatal injury due to non-functional safety equipment!
Safety equipment provides for the highest level of safety in a facility. Even if safety
equipment makes work processes more awkward, under no circumstances may they
be circumvented. Safety can only be ensured by intact safety equipment.
Therefore:
m Before starting to work, check whether the safety equipment is in good working or-
der and properly installed.
