15 4-Reader Boards and 8 Input/8 Output Boards
This chapter described the interface cards available with the Access Easy Controller. This sec-
tion identifies and locates key components on the card and includes a brief overview of func-
tional operation.
Two types of interface cards are available with the Access Easy Controller. The first is a 4-
Reader board, which provides all the termination points needed to fully manage four card
readers and all associated support hardware.
There is also an 8-Input/8-Output board available, which provides eight zones of end-of-line
resistor type inputs and eight contact closure outputs. This board is intended for non-reader
type applications where it is desirable to monitor such things as emergency exit doors, or
motion detectors. This card also provides eight form-C type relay outputs, which can be used
to control external equipment, such as lights, gate motor, etc.
The card size and location of mounting holes on both the 4-Reader board and 8-I/O board are
the same.

The diagrams on the following pages show the layout of the two types of interface board. All
major components are identified on the diagrams, and brief technical descriptions are pro-
vided in the pages that follow.
