Regulations only apply for shipping and packag-
ing of intact batteries. For defective / damaged
batteries please refer to page 149!
Obligatory guidelines for packaging
X Shipping in type-approved packaging with correct
labelling
– Available from the Bosch eBike Webshop (see p.
138)
– Undamaged used packaging can be used again.
X Protected against damage, no room to move, if
required, surrounded by cushioning material that is
non-combustible and non-conductive
X Observe the max. gross weight per package (2.8 kg
for Bosch eBike packaging)
X Recessed battery terminals and protected against
short circuiting
Packaging for Dangerous Goods
X Classification: Lithium ion batteries with more than
100 Wh
X Class 9: Miscellaneous dangerous substances and
objects
X Dangerous goods description: Lithium-ion batteries
X UN number 3480 (valid worldwide)
X Mandatory hazard label for shipment as shown in
the figure below
