7.3 Cleaning the Print Head
7.3.1 Quick Cleaning Protocol for the Print Head
The quickest way to clean the Visco Tool print head is to perform the rinsing of the device:
1) Start the Brinter
®
platform.
2) Open the door and insert a 10 mL syringe barrel with 10 mL of distilled H
2
O into the Visco Tool.
3) Do not attach a needle.
4) Close the door and attach the Visco Tool to the tool changer adapter.
5) Open the door and put a Petri dish under the Visco Tool for discarded fluid.
6) Close the door.
7) Use a flow volume limit of 1000 µL, flow rate of 30 µL/s and pressure of 1000 mbar.
8) Extrude the entire contents by pressing extrude (the downwards arrow) until you see clear water
coming out of the Visco Tool.
9) Add more distilled H
2
O and repeat the rinse if needed.
10) Discard the Petri dish and its content appropriately.
11) Change the syringe barrel with a new one having fresh material for printing. (Remember to
close the pressure valve before changing the syringe barrel.)
IMPORTANT: Never run Visco Tool when it is dry, as the stator might get damaged!
