13.2 Getting the Print Head Ready for Printing
13.2.1 Filling the Bioprinting Cap
Rotor, bioprinting cap and plug can be steam sterilized (at 121 °C, 20 min, 1 bar overpressure) before
filling.
Start the filling of the bioprinting cap [2] by pushing the piston [1] all the way into the bioprinting cap.
Check that the pistons membrane is facing towards the cap.
Connect a Luer-Lock syringe [3] filled with the material to the bioprinting cap via a Female to Female
Luer-Lock coupling [4].
Push the material out of the syringe [3] into the bioprinting cap [2] to fill it. The cap is filled to
maximum when the piston is ~10 mm away from the edge of the cap.
Seal the bioprinting cap with a tip cap [5].
