13.2.2 Installing the Bioprinting Cap
Fit the rotor [6] into the drive shaft [7].
Push the rotor through the membrane of the piston [1] into the filled bioprinting cap [2].
Lock the bioprinting cap [2] in place by turning it in the cap adapter. Remove the tip cap [5].
Screw on the Luer-Lock needle [8].
The Visco Tool Bio print head is now ready for printing.
If the material used is not self-levelling (medium/high viscosity liquid), emptying of the cap can be
supported by compressed air, which is turned on from the Material settings in the User interface. The
compressed air exerts pressure on the piston [1] and presses the material towards the rotor. No
compressed air is required for self-levelling materials (low viscosity liquid). The overpressure may be
set to a maximum of 0.5 bar.
NB: Never operate the print head without material to prevent damage to the equipment.
