Beforeperforminganymaintenanceorrepairoperation,
makesuretheconditionsaresafetoperformanytaskon
themachine.
1.Movethemachinetoalevelandrmground,away
fromsoftground,excavationsorpoorlyshoredcavity.
2.Lowertheloaderattachment.Placethebackhoeat-
tachmentintheroadtravelposition.
3.Ensurethedirection-of-travelleverandgearshiftlever
areinneutralposition.
4.Engagetheparkingbrake.
5.Stoptheengine.
6.Releasethehydraulicpressurebyoperatingthecon-
trolleversinalldirections.
7.Disconnecttheelectricalsystembydisconnectingthe
battery.
8.Placesomewedgesunderthewheelsinordertopre-
ventthemachinefrommovingifrequired.
NOTE:Forallmaintenanceoperationswhichrequirethe
loaderattachmenttoberaised,installthesafetysupport
strut.

Personnel
Thepersonnelinchargeofthechecksandmaintenanceoperationsmustbesufcientlyskilledtoperformtheseop-
erationsonthismachine.Thisskillmaybeobtainedbybeingtrainedforseveraldaysbyatechnicianorbyattending
atrainingcourse.
