Fan/alternatorbelttension
1.Movethemachinetoalevelandrmground.
2.Raisetheloaderarmandputthesafetystrut.
3.Placethebackhoeattachmentintheroadtravelposi-
tion.
4.Ensurethedirection-of-travelleverandgearshiftlever
areinneutralposition.
5.Engagetheparkingbrake.
6.Stoptheengineandremovethekey.
7.Waituntiltheenginereachesambienttemperaturebe-
foreperforminganymaintenanceactivity.
8.Openandraisetheenginehood.

9.Inspectthefanbelt(1)thoroughly.Checkandcorrect
ifthebeltisfoundtobehanginglooseonthepulleysto
avoidpowerlossandenginedamage.
NOTE:Donottightenthefanbelttofulltension.Tighten
thealternatormountingboltsaftermaintainingaslackof
25.40mm(1in)bypressingwiththumbonthelongest
spanofbelt.
10.T oadjustthebelt(1),loosenthealternatormounting
bolts(3).
11.Slidethealternator(2)awayfromtheenginetotighten
thebelt.
12.Tightenthealternatormountingbolts(3).
13.Lowerandlocktheenginehood.
14.Releasethesafetystrutandlowertheloaderattach-
ment.
