completely eliminate the sidetone, and the sidetone can be increased to 3.000 for
example, to be 3 times the sidetone volume.
For self-amplified audio panel configurations, a useful and practical sidetone
application could be found in the example above. RT1 through RT3 have been set to a
0.35 value for sidetone while the default is set to 1.000 and the auxiliary handheld
radios, RT4 and RT5 have slightly louder sidetone of 0.55.
Cabin Voice Recorder (CVR) Combined Audio
For the combined audio, referenced as audio output 6, the configuration of this port is
controlled by selecting the desired checkboxes for each radio as shown above. The
volume levels for each of the radios piped into the combined audio port is determined
by the active volume selected by the user.
E.g. As shown in the diagram above, the combined audio will take all audio provided
from Radio 1, Radio 2 and Radio 3 and combine them onto a single output. If the
operator adjusts the levels on any of those radios during operation the levels will be
translated to the combined audio output.
Radio/Module Names
The displayed names for the radio and the embedded modules (Wideband transceiver,
APX module, or SAR module) may be customized. This field applies to the PMR and
RMR (1 radio, 5 modules) and the RCDU (up to2 radios, each with 5 modules).
Radio/Module names are change by simply putting the cursor in the appropriate box
and entering the desired name. Module short names are displayed when the module
has not been selected. If the module has been selected then the full name is
displayed.
