The above image shows the Audio configuration of all eight audio channels. By
default, the Audio is configured to have channels 1 through 6 fixed to the values
shown above, and channels 7 and 8 are both left available for the user to configure.
Channels 1 through 6 are designed to interface with an audio control panel, while
channels 7 and 8 are designed to interface directly with another radio/handheld. If the
handheld radios are not exhibiting proper audio levels during operation, it is
recommended to adjust the Input and Output Gain within the Audio to achieve the
desired audio levels.
If the Audio Control Panel is exhibiting undesired behavior, it is recommended that the
installer address the audio levels using the audio control panel and not modify these
levels within the Audio.
Example: If the installer/operator is experiencing audio level differences while using a
Cobham, Becker, or Jupiter audio control panel with the RT-7000 PMR/RMR, it is
recommended that the installer/operator adjust the Input/Output levels on the audio
control panel. Cobham and Becker panels commonly feature adjustable features on
the exterior of the unit that enable audio level adjustment for each audio channel on
the audio control panel. The Jupiter Avionics audio control panels feature a
programming port to configure the audio levels for each audio channel on the audio
control panels. After the Audio panel configurations have been adjusted to the
required extent, if audio is still inconsistent or choppy then begin adjusting the Input
Mode, Input Gain, and the Output Gain listed above in the Mic/Audio Setup Section.
Side-tone Adjustment
The above image shows the Audio configuration of all eight audio channels. By
default, the Audio is configured to have channels 1 through 5 to have sidetone
adjustment available to the installer. This Sidetone value is defaulted to 1.000 and can
be varied in variable increments of 0.001. The sidetone can be set to 0.000 to
