F180R MOTION Sensor User and Reference Guide
Q : The Heading Initialisation re–started during the system calibration ?
A : This is generally caused by the satellite constellation being unsuitable for the F180R
System processing algorithm or by the loss of GNSS reception. The system should regain
heading lock within 10 to 15 seconds and resume calibration. If this issue persists then check
the antenna mounting location for potential obstructions that obscure the sky view of the
antenna.
Q : System calibration seems to be taking a long time ?
A : The calibration of the F180R System is best done with the vessel conducting a series of
dynamic manoeuvres. Double check ALL calibration parameters including GNSS correction type
and continue calibrating the system.
Q : Are there any general QC checks ?
A:
In the Diagnostics dialog:
Data Received for Internal Primary GNSS should both increment. No increment on one
would indicate a problem with that GPS receiver card.
Data Received for IMU should increment. No increment here would indicate a problem
with the IMU.
In the Graphical QC dialog:
When system up and running in normal operations, the unit status LEDs should read :
NavigationGreen; GPS Heading—Green; GPS Heading—Green; Power/ Comms—
Orange.
Diff Age should recycle if corrections are being input into the system.
Sats in view should update with current numbers of satellites in view.
All Accuracies should be shown Green when system is within calibration tolerances.
Innovations should generally be Green and stable. Unduly high innovations can be
caused by movement of the GNSS antennas relative to the vessel; movement of the IMU
relative to the vessel; or the IMU being mounted in a position where it suffers from
undue vibration.
Updates : Position and Velocity should reflect the GPS Correction type that the system is
using. Attitude will always show RTK Integer.
6.4.2 Network Troubleshooting
Connection between the PC and the F180R System uses TCP/IP operating over an Ethernet 100
Base-T link. This appendix explains how to setup and troubleshoot the network connection
between your PC and the F180R System.
