F180R MOTION Sensor User and Reference Guide
6.4.2.5 Network Q & A
Q : The Ethernet LED in MOTION Control is GREY. What does this mean ?
A : There is no active network connection to the F180R System. The system is not receiving the
UDP transmission from the F180R System. Check all network components between the F180R
System and the PC and ensure that both systems have compatible IP addresses.
The default F180R System IP Address is 195.0.0.180 with subnet 255.255.255.0. Initially you will
have to set your PC up with a compatible IP Address and subnet. However, once you have
established a connection to the F180R System you may subsequently change these parameters
if necessary.
If still unsuccessful, connect the F180R System's Ethernet RJ45 plug directly to the PC to
eliminate all other components. If this works reinstate the network components one at a time
to identify the defective component.
The options available for connecting your PC to the F180R System are either direct connection
via a cross-over CAT5 Ethernet cable or via a network hub device using standard straight
through CAT5 cables.
Q : The Ethernet LED in MOTION Control is YELLOW. What does this mean ?
A : There is an active network connection to the F180R System. MOTION Control is in listening
mode and is receiving the UDP transmission and reporting the current status of the system.
However the F180R System and the PC do not have a compatible IP Address and you cannot
send control commands to the F180R System.
Q : The Enthernet LED in MOTION Control is GREEN. What does this mean ?
A : There is a fully active network connection to the F180R System which is receiving the UDP
transmission and allowing control commands to be sent to the system. A fully operational
system should be in this state.
