5.8.3.5 Set Crosspoint (S)
The command for switching an output port ooo to an input port iii has the form
hexadecimal: 02 XX XX 53 XX XX XX
content: <STX> <address> S <output ooo>
hexadecimal: XX XX XX 03 XX
content: <input iii> <ETX> <checksum>
e.g. for a device with the device address 11 connected to the serial port for
switching output port 1 to input port 2
hexadecimal: 02 31 31 53 30 30 31
content: <STX> <address=11> S <output=001>
hexadecimal: 30 30 32 03 51
content: <input=002> <ETX> <checksum>
The positive response to this command is
hexadecimal: 06 XX XX 53 03 XX
content: <ACK> <address> S <ETX> <checksum>
e.g. for a device with the device address 11 connected to the serial port
hexadecimal: 06 31 31 53 03 56
content: <ACK> <address=11> S <ETX> <checksum>
Note:
A DEV 1951 equipped with two switch modules is treated as a 4x2 matrix (two
channels with two input ports and one output port, each) although it is not
possible to switch for instance- the input ports of the first switch module to
the output port of the second switch module. This has to be considered when
using the switch command via the QEC protocol.
The port assignments for the first switch module are
output port 1,
input port 1, and
input port 2;
and the port assignments for the second switch module are
output port 2,
input port 3, and
input port 4.
