8.7.2.2 Delay time for operation with AC power supply
In the case of AC inputs, the easyE4 device will read the input signal every period
with a scan cycle of t

The scan cycle depends on the supply frequency.

If the DEBOUNCE function is activated, the easyE4 device checks each period
whether a positive half-wave is present at an input terminal during two successive
scan cycles t
SC
(1st and 2nd scan pulse at A). If the easyE4 device registers two pos-
itive half waves in succession, it switches the appropriate input (contact) internally
from 0 to 1.

Accordingly, the typical input delay caused by the debounce option is at least 40 ms
(50 Hz). If applicable, this time must also include the cycle time since a easyE4 device
does not detect the signal until the start of a cycle. Conversely, the input is switched
off if the easyE4 device does not detect any half-cycles twice in succession (1st and
2nd pulse at B).
