10. easyE4 communication Connection to other devices
10.15 Setting up the e-mail function
10.15 Setting up the e-mail function
Only possible with easySoft 8.
The e-mail function can be used to have the easyE4 control relay send a message to
up to three different recipient groups.
Precondition:
In order for the e-mail function to work, the easyE4 control relay must be able to
establish an Ethernet connection to a public or private mail server.
The e-mail message will be triggered:
l
If an error occurs in the NET group (all devices located on the same network as
the easyE4)
l
The controller's operating state changes
or
l
The program is deleted
In addition, e-mails can be sent to recipients if an alarm function block has been con-
figured in the relevant program.
Since the easyE4 control relay cannot send any messages itself, the e-mail function
is the ideal way to ensure that the defined people will promptly receive a notification
when required.
These notifications will be triggered automatically if there is an active connection
between the easyE4 and a mail server and the latter has been configured accord-
ingly.
In addition, the e-mail functionality comes with the advantage of traceability. This
traceability can be viewed much the same way as data logging.
The following will be saved:
l
When an error occurred
l
When the operating state changed
l
When programs were deleted
