Troubleshooting Control Unit IV Reference Manual
6-20 529-0004 Ver.3
The
POWER
and
MASTER
LEDs light up but the other LEDs remain off.
The Control Unit may be in reprogramming mode (see section 6.7). This can be easily
corrected by pressing the reset button or, in a redundancy system, by turning both units off
and then turning them back on (see section 6.4.3 on page 6-10 for instructions). If the
STATUS
LED still does not light up or if it does not stay lit, upgrade the firmware (see Chapter 5).
The
STATUS
LED is flashing.
This LED usually flashes when the unit is being upgraded (reprogramming mode). If it
flashes in other circumstances, there is a problem with the Control Unit. Connect a terminal
to COM 3 and open a session. Reset the unit using the
RESET
button (see Chapter 1), or in a
redundancy system, by turning both units off and then turning them back on (see section
6.4.3 on page 6-10 for instructions). The information displayed in the startup screen indicates
the status of each of the sub-systems. Make sure that the battery is not causing the problem.
If the battery is working properly, note the errors identifying the defective sub-system as the
Control Unit boots, and contact Electrolines technical support department.
All the LEDs are flashing.
All the LEDs may flash when the redundancy cable is disconnected or not properly plugged
in. Check the cable. If the problem persists, contact Electrolines technical support
department.
6.9 Error messages
This section contains an alphabetical list of error messages that may appear when you are
using the Control Unit. This list does not include error messages caused by other software
used with the Control Unit.
To diagnose and solve a problem, look up the error message in this list and refer to the
troubleshooting section or to the appropriate chapter in this manual for how-to instructions.
Access denied
This message appears when the Control Unit does not recognize the login password or
when the command is only available with full-access privileges.
See section 6.6 for setup-related help. Refer to Chapter 3 for login procedures and a list
of commands available only with full-access privileges.
Backup error
This message appears when the
sync
command has failed, usually because the other unit
is not responding. The unit may be absent, improperly cabled or not working.
See section 6.4.7 to troubleshoot backup errors. Refer to Chapter 3 for information on
how to synchronize two Control Units.
