3.6.7 RF watchdog setting for a single Control Unit
The role of the watchdog is to monitor the Control Units modulator. It samples the messages
on the RF carrier that is received on the
TEST IN
and checks for errors.
If there is only one Control Unit and the RF watchdog is set to toggle on error, the Control
Unit will reset if an error occurs by warning the CPU.
Note:
Make sure that the Control Units test ports are connected with a short coaxial cable jumper
that runs from the
TEST OUT
connector to the
TEST IN
connector.
This procedure sets the RF watchdog as recommended for a single master Control Unit with
no backup unit. For instructions on setting the watchdog for a redundancy system,
see section 3.7.5.
