Function description COMMUNICATION

The Group COMMUNICATION is not available unless the option HART was selected in the
CURRENT SPAN function ( → Page 97)
TAG NAME Use this function to enter a tag name for the measuring device. You can edit
and read this tag name at the local display or via the HART protocol.
User input:
Max. 8-character text, permitted characters are: A-Z, 0-9, +,-, punctuation
marks
Factory setting:
“_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _” (no text)
TAG DESCRIPTION Use this function to enter a tag description for the measuring device. You can
edit and read this tag description at the local display or via the HART protocol.

Max. 16-character text, permitted characters are: A-Z, 0-9, +,-, punctuation

FIELDBUS ADDRESS Use this function to define the address for the exchange of data with the HART
protocol.

Addresses 1...15: a constant 4 mA current is applied.
WRITE PROTECTION Use this function to activate HART write protection.
Options:
OFF = Function can be edited/read out via HART protocol
ON = HART protocol write protected (can only be read out)

MANUFACTURER ID Use this function to view the manufacturer ID in decimal numerical format.
