10 Technical data
10.1 Technical data at a glance
10.1.1 Application
Measuring the flow rate of fluids in closed piping systems.
A minimum conductivity of 50 µS/cm is required for measuring
Applications in measuring, control and regulation technology.
!
Note!
For liner specific applications see Section 10.1.2, "Function and system design"
10.1.2 Function and system design
Measuring principle Electromagnetic flow measurement on the basis Faraday’s law.
Measuring system The measuring system consists of a transmitter and a sensor.
Two versions are available:
Compact version:
Transmitter and sensor form a single mechanical unit.
Remote version:
Sensor is mounted separate from the transmitter.
Transmitter :
Promag 10
Sensor:
Promag W, DN 25...600 / 1/2"...24"
Polyurethane-liner for water and waste water applications, applications with stable
and constant temperature and applications with small abrasion (e.g. mining
industry).
Hard rubber liner for all water applications (especially potable water applications).
Promag P, DN 25...300 / 1/4"...24"
PTFE-liner for all standard applications in the chemical and process industry.
Promag H, DN 2...100 / 1/12"...1/2"
PFA-liner for all applications in the chemical, process and food industry. Especially
for applications with high temperatures and big temperature steps (e.g. CIP and
SIP).
10.1.3 Input
Measured variable Flow rate (proportional to induced voltage)
Measuring range Typically v = 0.01...10 m/s with the specified measuring accuracy
Operable flow range Over 1000 : 1
