Oil Level Indicator & Tube - Replacement
1. Remove and/or disconnect components to allow
access and removal of the oil level indicator & tube.
Label if necessary to allow for correct reinstallation.
2. Remove the oil level indicator.
3. Remove the 2 bolts and tube.
4. Remove and discard the o-ring.
5. Reverse procedure to install:
• Install a new o-ring
• Apply clean engine oil to o-ring
• Tighten bolts to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
Oil Pan - Removal
CAUTION: Failure to follow this procedure can
cause future oil leakage.
1. Remove and/or disconnect components to allow
access and removal of the oil pan. Label if
necessary to allow for correct reinstallation.
2. Drain the engine oil.
3. Remove oil level indicator & tube -- Refer to“Oil
Level Indicator & Tube - Replacement” on page 24
of this section.
4. Remove oil pan and bolts.
CAUTION: Do not use metal scrapers, wire brushes,
power abrasive discs or other abrasive means to
clean the sealing surfaces. These tools cause
scratches and gouges which make leak paths. Use
a plastic scraping tool to remove all traces of old
sealant.
5. Clean the mating surface of oil pan and block, with
silicone gasket remover and metal surface prep.
