❏ Place folded originals so that the valley fold is at the front of the scanner and on the ADF side. You can load
up to 10 sheets. Originals with a hard fold line may not be fed properly. For originals such as these,
atten
them so that the height of the fold is 5 mm (0.2 inches) or less before loading it.
❏ When scanning award
certicates
and other thick originals (originals with a thickness of 127 g/m² or
more), switch the scanner to the straight path position and load only one original at a time.
You can check the scanner position using the scanner position light ( ). When the scanner position light
is on, the scanner is in the straight path position. If the scanner position light is o (in the vertical path
position), pull the lever on the back to tilt the scanner back.
When scanning in the straight path position, make sure there is enough space in front of the scanner for the
ejected originals.
Also, if the ejected originals hit the surface of the table on which the scanner is placed and this aects the
scanned image, move the scanner to the edge of the table so that the ejected originals can drop and catch
them directly.
