E. Parking brake valve
NOTE
The removal / installation procedure applies to both the Matco
valve and the GoldFren valve.
(1) Removal – parking brake valve
(a) Remove the upholstery of the left pilot seat (Section 25-10).
(b) Remove the handgrip (4, Fig. 32-21) of the lever (1) attached by the screw (9) with
the locking washer (14).
(c) Remove the left cover of the control pull-rod IN1L (Section 25-10).
(d) Remove the switch of parking brake signaling (see par. 2 F(1)).
(e) Unscrew and remove the nuts (19), washers (20), screws (17; 18/23) and remove
the parking brake bracket (15).
(f) Disconnect and close with blind plugs the hoses of the brake fluid line.
(g) Unscrew the screws (8) of the attachment of the two-part guide pin (2) and (3).
Remove the parts of the guide pin (2) and (3) with the washers (12) from the
guiding groove in the control lever (1).
(h) Remove the lever of the parking valve control (1) that is attached by the screw (6)
with the washers (11) and the nut (10).
(i) Unscrew and remove the nuts (10), washers (13/22 and remove the valve (5).
(j) Remove the screws (7/21) and at the Matco valve also the washers (13; 16).
(2) Installation – parking brake valve
(a) Position the valve (5, Fig. 32-21) on the bracket (15); at the Matco valve insert the
washers (16) between the bracket and the valve.
(b) Attach the valve (5) by means of the screws (7/21), washers (13/22) and nuts (10).
(c) Attach the control lever (1) on the parking valve (5) by means of the screw (6),
washer (11) and nut (10).
(d) Clean the screws (8) and apply the Loctite 243 on the threads (only at the
GoldFren valve).
(e) Install the two-part guide pin (2) and (3) of control lever (1) by means of the screws
(8) and washers (20) (only at the GoldFren valve).
(f) Install the bracket (15) with the parking valve by means of the screws 17; 18/23),
washers (20) and nuts (19).
(g) Connect he hoses of the brake fluid line.
(h) Install the switch of parking brake signaling (see par. 2 F(2)).
(i) Do the function check and the leakage tests.
(j) Install the left cover of the control pull-rod IN1L (Section 25-10).
(k) Install the handgrip (4) attached by the screw (9) and the locking washer (14).
(l) Insert the upholstery of the pilot seat (Section 25-10).
