SCHEDULED SERVICING
1. INTRODUCTION
This Section includes information which is necessary for regular maintenance of the airplane. This
Section includes the Lubricating Chart and instructions for cleaning of the airplane exterior and interior
including the necessary material.
2. LUBRICATING CHART
A. Lubrication fundamentals
Lubricate the movable or revolving parts of the airplane in specified time intervals (Tab. 12-7).
Regular lubrication decreases frictional forces in the movable joints and protects the lubricated
points against corrosion. Use the recommended lubricants (Tab. 12-6). Lubricants must not be
contaminated by water or unwanted materials and they must not have expired storage period or
usability. After you complete lubrication, clean the residual grease from the lubricated points.
The area in which you do the lubrication must be dust free.
Some points (e.g. landing gear) are exposed to environmental influences and variable load. You
must monitor these points during periodical inspections and preflight inspections and lubricate
them as often as circumstances require, but at least in specified time intervals (Tab. 12-7).
After you clean the airplane with a pressurized stream of water, lubricate the points which came
into contact with the stream of water again (hinges of control surfaces, flaps, nose landing gear,
etc.).
B. Recommended greases
Greases are mineral oils thickened with calcic, sodium, lithium or any other thickeners of
aliphatic acids.
The greases do not have SAE classification and it is necessary to mark them with a brand name
of the manufacturer for the individual use. Grease may be applied during all year.
Use greases of soft or semi-solid consistency, butyraceous, water resistant, intended for use at
very low temperatures (to -30 °C) and at high temperatures (120 °C). The airplane manufacturer
recommends these lubricants and lubricating oils (refer to Tab. 12-6):
Oils Greases
WD-40
(or equivalent)
MOGUL MOLYKA G
AEROSHELL GREASE 22
AEROSHELL GREASE 11MS
AEROSHELL GREASE 23C
SHELL RETINAX HDX2
SHELL RETINAX EPX2
(or equivalent)
