DTP CrossPoint 4K Series Matrix Switchers • Introduction 4
Definitions
The following terms apply to all Extron matrix switchers and are used throughout this guide:
Paired outputs — Outputs that include two connectors: an HDMI connector and an
RJ-45 (TP) connector (such as output 5A and 5B on the DTP CrossPoint 108 4K). The
paired signal outputs are duplicated between the HDMI (A) and TP (B) connectors.
Scaled outputs — Outputs that are either TP-only or paired.
Tie — An input-to-output video connection, line audio connection, or both.
Set of ties — An input tied to two or more outputs. (An output can never be tied to
more than one input).
Configuration — One or more ties or sets of ties. The “configuration” also can include
some or all of the signal processor settings that can be made in the DSP Configurator
program.
Current configuration — The configuration that is currently active in the switcher (also
called configuration 0).
Preset — A full or partial configuration (a subset of ties, sets of ties, or signal processor
settings) with accompanying audio settings that has been stored.
NOTES:
Presets can be created only by using the DSP Configurator or Product
Configuration Software programs.
When a preset is retrieved from memory, it becomes the current configuration.
Up to 32 partial or full presets can be stored in memory. Preset locations are
assigned to the input buttons and output buttons. Up to 18 preset locations
can be recalled from the front panel. Preset numbers larger than 18 are
accessible under remote control.
Presets can also be recalled using SIS commands, using the Product
Configuration Software, or using the DSP Configurator program.
When a preset consisting of full configurations is recalled, it completely
overwrites the current configuration.
When a preset consisting of one or more partial configurations is recalled, it
overwrites only a portion of the current configuration, leaving other ties and
settings unchanged.
