9.5.4 Circuit Faults (Category 1)
Circuit faults apply to Genius I/O modules and the IC697VRD008 RTD/Strain Bridge modules. Fault
extra data is available for all faults in this category. More than one condition may be present in a
particular reporting of the fault.
Action: Diagnostic.
Fault Extra Data for Circuit Faults
Genius Bus Controller
Circuit fault entries use one or two bytes of the fault extra data area. If the GBC reports the fault, the
first byte is generated by the GBC and the second byte contains the circuit configuration and is
encoded as shown in the following table.

If the fault type is a GENA fault, the second byte contains the data that was reported from the GENA
module in Fault Byte 2 of its Report Fault message.
