Editing Samples
The most effective way to edit and audition changes to a sample is to
assign it to a multi-sample slot and create a program that uses it on one
of the oscillators so you can play it from the keyboard as you make
changes. Certain functions such as looping can only be fully auditioned
this way. Refer to “Using Samples in a Preset” on page 42 for instruc-
tions on to do this.
Once a sample is assigned to a multi-sample slot and in use in a program,
you can quickly edit it by turning the
wavetable knob on the oscillator
that uses the sample then pressing soft button 2 (
sample). The sample
editing screen will appear. Here you can loop the sample, adjust its start
and end point, edit its name, and more.
To edit a sample:
1. Press the global button and use soft knob 1 to scroll to the manage
multisamples setting.
2. Turn soft knob 2 to select
go.
3. In the Sample Editing screen, use soft knob 1 to select the desired
multi-sample slot, then use soft knob 2 to select the desired sample
itself. The sample appears in the display.
Adjusting Start and End Points
1. To adjust the playback start point of the sample, turn soft knob 3. Press
play to hear the effect. The blue line at the beginning of the waveform
in the display indicates the playback start point.
2. Press soft button 3 (
play) to hear the effect.
3. To adjust the end point of the sample, turn soft knob 4. The blue line at
the end of the waveform the display indicates the playback end.
4. Press soft button 3 (
play) or play a note on the keyboard to hear the
effect. (Make sure you are using a program that uses the current sample
and are playing in a range where the current sample is active.)
5. Continue adjusting the start and end points as desired. When you are
satised, save the program by pressing the
write button on the front
panel. This will save the start and end into the multi-sample slot in
addition to saving the program.
