5.1 Preventive Maintenance

Service Engineer Preventive Maintenance Schedule
Maintenance Task Description
Each Visit

Annually
Review user concerns or issues. x
Inspect all system components for wear and damage. x x
Check missing, damaged, or loose hardware. Be sure covers
fit tightly.

Inspect paddles for damage and defects. Replace as
necessary.

Inspect cables and connections for wear and damage. x x
Inspect all ground wires for damage and correct connection. x
Inspect and clean the unit. x
Verify the calibration of the ±15 degree stereo position. x
Verify the x-ray field for Biopsy Mode. x
Verify all of the Affirm system functions. x
Check compression lockout operation. x
Verify the Affirm system alignment to the C-arm. x
Verify the Needle Guide alignment.
Verify the Affirm system locks in position on the C-arm. x
Verify the ID sensors correctly identify the Affirm system
when installed.
x
Install software/ firmware upgrades if required and if under
warranty/contract.
x
Perform QAS Procedures to confirm target accuracy. x
Complete all required documentation, Preventive
Maintenance, and Service Requests. Make an appointment
for repair service if required.
