a. Disconnect each power cord from the power source.
b. Disconnect each power cord from the server.
4. Disconnect all peripheral cables from the server.
5. Remove the server from the rack.
6. Remove the inner rack rails.
7. Remove the access panel.
8. Remove all drives connected to the drive backplane.
9. Disconnect all drive backplane cables to system board, controller card, or riser.
10. Do one of the following:
• To replace the drive backplane of the outer drive cage (box 1):
a. If installed,
remove the inner drive cage.
b.
Remove the outer drive cage.
• To replace the drive backplane of the inner drive cage (box 3), remove the inner drive cage.
11.
Place the drive cage on a flat, level surface with its bottom side facing up.
12.
Remove the cable guard:
a.
Remove the screws.
b.
Slide the cable guard horizontally to disengage it from the chassis.
c.
Remove the cable guard.
13. Disconnect all cables from the drive backplane.
14. Remove the 8SFF drive backplane.
