Removing the system board
Prerequisites
Before you perform this procedure, make sure that you have the following items available:
• T-15 screwdriver (for system board screws and the handle)
• T-20 screwdriver (for processor and heatsink screws)
• Hex nut screw driver
• Alcohol wipe
• System board handle (from spare system board kit)
Procedure
1. If installed, remove the bezel.
2.
Power down the server.
3.
Remove all power:
a.
Disconnect each power cord from the power source.
b.
Disconnect each power cord from the server.
4.
Disconnect all peripheral cables from the server.
5.
Remove the server from the rack.
6.
Remove all power supplies.
7.
Remove the access panel.
8.
If installed,
remove the air bale.
9.
Disconnect and remove all the cables connected to expansion boards and the system board.
10.
Remove all riser cages.
11.
Remove all fans.
12. Remove all fan blanks.
13. If installed, remove the following components:
•
Smart Array modular type-a controller or 1-port NVMe adapter
• HPE Smart Storage battery
•
OCP NIC 3.0 adapter
• Serial port cable
• Chassis intrusion detection switch
14. Remove the GPU holder.
