Missing quorum, storage controller, or storage system
information
Symptom
You may see one of the following symptoms:
• Not all the storage systems are providing information in the StoreVirtual Management Console
• The Management Group does not have quorum
• A storage controller is missing in the SVMC
Solution 1
Cause
The Management Group is not able to communicate with all the storage controllers.
For single-node storage systems, use the following steps:
Action
1. Open an SSH session to the IP address of storage controller 1 (SC1), port 16022 to connect to the
CLIQ interface on the first storage controller.
2. Log in using the storage system admin credentials.
3. Type the command setGossipList node=<IP1>;<IP2> where IP1 is the first IP address of the
bonded interface on SC1, and IP2 is the first IP address of the bonded interface on SC2.
4. Type exit to end the SSH session.
5. Repeat the steps for SC2.
The setGossipList command will be the same on each storage controller but each storage
controller must be given the updated IP addresses.
Solution 2
Cause
The Management Group is not able to communicate with all the storage controllers.
For multi-node storage systems, use the following steps:
Action
1. Open an SSH session to the IP address of SC1, port 16022 to connect to the CLIQ interface on the
first storage controller.
2. Log in using the storage system admin credentials.
