CHAPTER 13
Living with Diabetes
Warning: If you are unable to use the Omnipod DASH™ System according
to instructions, you may be putting your health and safety at risk. Talk with
your healthcare provider if you have concerns about using the Omnipod
DASH™ System.
Before deciding on the Omnipod DASH™ System, you and your healthcare
provider discussed the benets of the Omnipod DASH™ System, as well as the
responsibilities that come with insulin pump therapy. Remember: safe use begins
and ends with you. If you have questions or doubts about being able to safely
use the Omnipod DASH™ System at any time, consult your healthcare provider
immediately.
Daily Activities
To ensure proper Omnipod DASH™ System operation and your continued good
health, check your infusion site, your PDM messages and your blood glucose
frequently.
Infusion site checks
At least once a day, use the Pod’s viewing window to inspect the infusion site.
Check the site for:
Leakage or scent of insulin, which may indicate that the cannula has
dislodged
Signs of infection, such as pain, swelling, redness, discharge or heat
