1. DTC Judgment
1. Place the key switch in the OFF position, and attach the
diagnosis tool to the CAN1 connector.
2. Turn the key switch to the ON position, check whether the DTC
(P2146, P2149) is output or not.

2. Check the "P- GND" Wiring Harness
1. Place the key switch in the OFF position, unplug the engine
ECU wiring harness connector from the socket, and measure
the resistance between each engine ECU terminal and the
chassis ground (at the wiring harness side).

3. Check the "P- GND" Wiring Harness Connector and Engine
ECU Pins
1. Place the key switch in the OFF position, unplug the engine
ECU connector from the socket, and check the engine ECU pins
for faulty connection, deformation, poor contact or other defects.

4. Measure the Resistance Between Engine ECU Terminals
1. Place the key switch in the OFF position, unplug the engine
ECU wiring harness connector, and measure the resistance
between each terminal at the connector side as shown on the
following table.

Either DTC P2146 or P2149 is output.
OK Go to "4. Measure the Resistance Between Engine ECU Terminals".
NG Go to "2. Check the "P- GND" Wiring Harness".

1.5 Ω or lower
OK Go to "3. Check the "P- GND" Wiring Harness Connector and Engine
ECU Pins".
NG 1. Check the "P- GND" wiring harness → Replace.
2. Locate the cause of open circuit, or increase its resistance value.
Service

Must be free from faulty connection, deformation, poor
contact or other defects.
OK Go to "4. Measure the Resistance Between Engine ECU Terminals".
NG Replace wiring harness connectors and engine ECU pins, or replace
them if defective.

Both system cables must have 1.5 Ω or lower.
OK Go to "6. Check the Wiring Harness Connectors and Engine ECU Pins".
NG Go to "5. Check the Wiring Harness".
