Boot Mode
Thedeviceboottestverifiesthattheconfiguration,sensor,andwiringarevalid.Thelengthofthe
boot‐uptimevariesonwhetherthesensoriscoldorhotwhenthepowerisapplied.
TheB‐Seriesflowmetercanboot‐upandstartrespondingtohostcommunicationsorupdating
the
4‐20mAoutputanddisplaywithinonesecondofrestarting/poweringup.However, theboot
sequencehastocompletetoguaranteetheintegrityofthedata,anditisgenerallyrecommended
towaitanadditional20secondsbeforeissuinganycommands.
Anearzeroflowratecancauseabootdelay
upto2minutes,duringwhichtimethevelocity
sensormustcooloffsoitsresistancevaluecanbecheckedtoensuretherearenosensorfaults.
A highprocessvelocityduringboot‐upreducesthedelaybecausethehotsensorcancooldown
faster.
Whenthemeteristurnedonfrom
apower‐offstate,theNE‐43alarmissetuntilthesensorboot
processcompletes.Theflowandtemperaturewillthenindicatetheirpropervalues.
Whenyouboot‐up(poweron)theflowmeter,thedisplayprogressesthroughaseriesof
initializationindicators:
