3.2 Connecting the Flowmaster System to an IT-Network
The Flowmaster system requires a connection to an IT-Network to allow the
system to carry out automatic functions such as renewal of the Synergy
software license and periodic installation of software updates. An IT-Network
access is also required for certain add-on features such as Electronic Medical
Records (EMR) connectivity and to facilitate data transmission to and from the
Flowmaster system.
For information and guidance on how to set up and configure the Flowmaster
system to properly operate on your facilitys IT-Network, contact Laborie
service at service@laborie.com.
CAUTION
Connecting the Flowmaster system to an IT-Network that
includes other networked equipment can result in
previously unidentified security and safety risks to
patients, operators, or third parties. Laborie recommends
that you work with your facility’s network administrator to
identify, analyze, evaluate, and control these risks.
Subsequent changes to the IT-Network to which the
Flowmaster system is connected (e.g., configuration,
connection/disconnection of customer-supplied items,
updates or upgrades of other equipment connected to the
network) could introduce new risks and require additional
analysis.
