6. Maintenance
6.1 Introduction
In this chapter, you will find information for preventive maintenance, testing
and cleaning the flowmeter. Note that the flowsensor may only be opened for
any adjustment, replacement, maintenance or repair by Laborie-qualified
personnel.
6.2 Preventive Maintenance
Laborie advises to perform preventive maintenance once a year. With
preventive maintenance, a regular check of the flowmeter is meant. This can
be done by your service department or you can ask your Laborie
representative.
The procedure is as follows:
Check all parts on visible damage.
Test the flowmeter as described in § 6.3.
Clean the flowmeter as described in § 6.4.
6.3 Test the Flowmeter
The flowmeter can be tested by using objects of 50, 100, 500 1000 and 2000
gram.
Start a regular uroflow investigation and place each object on the flowsensor.
In the printed uroflow report you can check the values of each object. The
measured volume may deviate as described § 7.4.
If you have a device which can simulate a constant flow (ml/s), you can check
the flow recording. Place the urine container on the flowsensor and start the
voiding simulation. In the printed uroflow report you can check the values.
Via menu-item Diagnostics you can also test the flowsensor functioning (see
§ 5.2.5).
