9. Multiple Flowmasters
9.1 Introduction
The multiple Flowmaster functionality gives you the possibility to use more
than one flowmeter on one computer. This means that the Flowmaster
software on a specific computer will be able to accept uroflow data from more
than one wireless flowmeter at the same time, collecting all flows in the
database program.
The information in this chapter provides you with all information you need to
install and use the multiple Flowmaster functionality.
Important information
The hospital is responsible for creating a safe situation in which the patient
name is always linked to the recorded uroflow of that patient. Therefore,
Laborie recommends (1) to use the indication of the Flowmaster serial number
and (2) to label each flowmeter in the software with a unique name, which is
easy to understand by the patient. Hand over the patient a token with the
name of the flowmeter (room) and give the patient clear instructions to visit
that specific room. Put a sign with the same information as on the token on the
door of the investigation room and put a sign near the flowmeter. Before
starting investigations, always check that the flowmeters are at the correct
location.
9.2 Installation
The procedure for installing multiple flowmeters is as follows:
▪ Install the Laborie Flowmaster software and the flowmeters as described in
chapter 2.
▪ Register all flowmeters. In the window ‘Registered flowmeters’ you will see
the serial number and the name of the flowmeters.
