6.4 Cleaning the Flowmeter
Laborie advises that cleaning of the flowmeter is performed on a regular base.
Some parts need more frequent cleaning to obtain a maximum hygienic
system. Below we show the several parts with their cleaning instructions.
Before cleaning, mind the following.
CAUTION
Never use any detergents, thinner, benzine or other
volatile chemicals while cleaning the flowsensor to prevent
damage to the system.
CAUTION
Do not use excessive amounts of water for cleaning the
flowsensor to prevent damaging the electronics.
CAUTION
Never allow water to get inside the flowsensor to prevent
damage to the system.
CAUTION
Do not use chloride-based solutions for cleaning the flow
stand. Check that the solution does not affect stainless
steel (AISI304L). Clean the flow stand if it was
contaminated with urine.

Daily Cleaning
Flowmaster/
Flowsensor
Remove water from the
flowsensor and the flow
stand with a soft, dry
cloth.
Do not apply excessive
force on the flowsensor.
Clean the outside of the
flowsensor with a
moisturized cloth or with
ethyl alcohol (ethanol).
Disinfection can be done
with isopropyl alcohol
70% (propanol).
Urine collection
container
Clean with water and
detergent.
Funnel
Clean with water and
detergent.
Flow Stand
Clean with water and
detergent.
Medical dishwasher (instrument washer)
The urine container and the funnel can be cleaned in a medical dishwasher (or
instrument washer) with a maximum temperature of 80 °C (176 °F).
