8. Patient Data on the Network
8.1 Introduction
The Flowmaster software offers you the opportunity to save patient data on the
network easily. This way a backup of the investigation data can be made with
the standard backup of the hospital network. Read the information in this
chapter carefully, before installing and using this functionality.
8.2 Description Functionality
The Flowmaster software will be installed on the computer you are planning to
work with (and not on the network). During the installation, you must define a
directory on the network in which patient investigation data is being saved.
Note that by using this functionality, patient data is not saved on the computer
you are working with. The Bluetooth dongle is connected to a free USB port on
this computer.
The uroflow investigation procedure will be as follows. After starting the
computer, the flow program will switch on the flowmeter. The patient
investigation data as stored on the network will be available in the database
program. At this moment, you can perform an uroflow investigation via the flow
or database program. The investigation data is stored in the network directory
automatically after finishing the investigation.
If the network connection fails during the day, the flow program will store all
data temporarily on your local hard disk. A clear error message is displayed on
the screen. In this situation, you can use the flow program only to perform
investigations; the database program cannot be accessed. The next time a
network connection is available, the program will save all investigation data to
the network directory automatically.
More than one computer?
It is only possible to have access to the investigation data in the network
directory, by using the computer on which the Flowmaster software is running.
If you install the Flowmaster software also on another computer, then this
computer will be your new computer to work with. The first computer cannot be
