To ensure the integrity and security of patient data and the Flowmaster
system, do the following:
• Ensure that Windows automatic updates is always turned on.
• To comply with applicable standards regarding data privacy and security
(e.g., Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 [HIPAA]
and General Data Protection Regulation [GDPR]), be sure that BitLocker is
active on the Flowmaster system at all times.
• Update all access information (username and password) upon first use; do
not use the temporary login credentials that were provided to you during the
initial system installation as your permanent access information.
• Never leave the computer unattended after you have logged in. Manually
lock the computer if you expect to be away from it for an extended period of
time.
• Be sure to follow all security policies, as specified by your healthcare
facility’s IT security department.
If you suspect a cybersecurity threat, contact your IT security department for
guidance.
2.4 Install Your Computer and the Software
Use the manuals as supplied with your computer to unpack and set-up
computer, monitor and printer. The recommended operating system to run the
Laborie Flowmaster software is Windows 7 Professional Edition (32 or 64 bit),
Windows 7 Home Premium Edition (32 or 64 bit), Windows 7 Home Premium
Edition (32 or 64 bit), Windows 8 (8.1) Pro (32 or 64 bit) or Window 10
(Professional 64 bit). See § 11.3 for the computer requirements. Detailed
information about software installation can be found in the Software Installation
Manual (LBL-02579).
2.5 Install the Flowmeter
The flowmeter is supplied with a flowsensor, stand (optional), funnel and urine
container as displayed below. The Bluetooth flowmeter only works when the
Flowmaster software with Bluetooth functionality has been installed on your
computer (see § 2.4).
