Appendix D Electromagnetic Compatibility
The Flowmaster needs special precautions regarding EMC (Electro Magnetic
Compatibility) and needs to be installed and put into service in accordance to
EMC information provided in this manual.
For EM compliance, it is important to only use accessories as supplied or
recommended by Laborie.
A list of accessories can be found in the Catheters & Accessories Catalogue,
document code 0014-RPT-074. Contact Laborie for the latest version.
Recommendations for actions to assure that the Flowmaster remains safe
regarding the EM disturbances:
The equipment should be visually inspected regularly for damaged
cables and connectors. Damaged cables should be replaced.
If the Flowmaster system is used in a location near (e.g. less than 1,5
km from) AM, FM or TV broadcast antennas, it may be necessary to
take preventive actions for reducing the EM interfering level (for instance
by shielding the investigation room).
Guidance and manufacturer’s declaration electromagnetic emissions
The Flowmaster is intended for use in the electromagnetic environment
specified below. The customer or the user of the Flowmaster should assure
that it is used in such an environment.
When the Flowmaster system is exposed to electromagnetic (EM)
disturbances, the system may show abnormal behavior. For instance, the
measured traces may be become obscured, or, in case of very high level
transient voltage events like for instance ESD, parts of the system may even
become defective.
