Makesurethatyouhaveallthecablesandotherequipmentthatisspecifiedinthedocumentationthat

Checktheinstructionsthatcomewiththedrivetoseewhetheryouhavetosetanyswitchesorjumpers
onthedrive.IfyouareinstallingaSASorSATAdevice,besuretosettheSASorSATAIDforthatdevice.
OptionalexternaltapedrivesandDVD-ROMdrivesareexamplesofremovable-mediadrives.You
caninstallremovable-mediadrivesonlyinbays1and2onmodelswithsix3.5-inch,eight,sixteen,
twenty-four,andthirty-two2.5-inchharddiskdrives.
Theelectromagneticinterference(EMI)integrityandcoolingoftheserverareprotectedbyhavingallbays
andPCIslotscoveredoroccupied.WhenyouinstalladriveorPCIadapter,savetheEMCshieldandfiller
panelfromthebayorthePCIadapterslotcoverintheeventthatyoulaterremovethedriveoradapter.
