Ifyouarereplacingaservercomponentintheserver,youneedtoturnofftheserverandperipheraldevices,
anddisconnectthepowercordsandallexternalcables.
ToinstallanoptionalServeRAIDadaptermemorymodule,completethefollowingsteps.
Step1.Carefullyturntheserveronitssidesothatitislyingflat,withthecoverfacingup.
Attention:Donotallowtheservertofallover.
Step2.Unlockandremovetheleft-sidecover(see“Removingtheleft-sidecover”onpage182).
Step3.Removetheairbaffle(see“Removingtheairbaffle”onpage188).
Step4.RemovetheServeRAIDadapterifnecessary(see“Removinganadapter”onpage215).
Step5.Touchthestatic-protectivepackagethatcontainsthememorycardtoanyunpaintedmetalsurface
ontheserver;then,removethememorycardfromthepackage.
Step6.AlignthememorymodulewiththeconnectorontheServeRAIDadapterandpushitintothe
connectoruntilitisfirmlyseated.
