4.5.7 Maintaining Drums
Suspended and driven drums deliver cut material from the ends of the cutterbar and help maintain an even crop flow into
the conditioner.

Inspecting Drums
Inspect drums daily for signs of damage or wear.
DANGER
To avoid bodily injury or death from unexpected start-up or fall of a raised machine, stop engine, remove key, and
engage windrower lift cylinder safety props before going under machine for any reason.
CAUTION
Discblades have two sharp cutting edges that can cause serious injury. Exercise caution and wear gloves when working
with blades.
1. Lower the header fully.
2. Shut off the engine, and remove the key from the ignition.
